As Christmas approaches, Kosovar Erkan Arapi will bring the joy of last year's holidays and many gifts to Sweden's capital, in his role as Santa taxi driver.
Since 2004, Taxi Stockholm has offered a service in which residents could order a Santa to visit their family and deliver gifts to their homes.
One of them will be Kosovar Arapi, who says he is very happy that he will make many people rejoice.
In an interview with the Swedish medium, Theocal.se, He said he went to Sweden in 1994, and after 25 years he's very happy with his new “ ”.
Being a Santa taxi driver for ten years has given him better reflection inside Swedish homes for Christmas.
When I arrived in Sweden, I was very eager to assimilate, so I quickly learned Swedish through SFI (Program for Emigrants), which helped me a lot of”, says the Kosovar. It's a beautiful place, especially Stockholm, that I see as the capital of Scandinavian. Sweden is truly a perfect place for foreigners, free to be who you want to be, and the air is so clean and fresh”.
Then, it shows the difference between the Christmas holiday from Sweden to Kosovo.
As far as Christmas is concerned, it is much different here than in Kosovo, in part since Sweden is the holiday tradition on the eve of December 24th. Kosovo is a multiethnic state so it has a mix of traditions. You cannot compare Christmas to those in Sweden. There are two different worlds, both beautiful in their own ways”, he said.
