I'm very happy that with the budget we're embarking on, there will be substantial budgetary growth for these institutions to strengthen the justice system in the country. In 2018 the judiciary and the state prosecution will be added to judges and prosecutors, as well as additional professional staff and other needs necessary to ensure more efficient fighting corruption, crime and other negative phenomena that conflict with the law. In this case, it was also a pleasure to announce to the Judiciary and Prosecutorial Council that, with the introduction of the salary raise decision for government officials, with automatism, under the Law on Court and Law for State Prosecutors, the salaries of judges and prosecutors will increase at all levels. In 2013, where all public service sectors have benefited from salary hikes, judges and prosecutors have been the only ones who have not benefited from this increase. So this is also good news for the fact that the judges and prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo now have the highest salaries in the region. Now citizens of the Republic of Kosovo rightly expect the year 2018 to be a year of increased efficiency and accountability in the justice sector and strengthening the rule of law in the country.
