With nearly 13m euros in assistance from Germany, Kosovo is able to reintegration returnees, develop projects in education, youth and employment, which coincide with the priorities of the Government of Kosovo.
So said this morning on the occasion of signing the agreement for technical co-operation for 2017 by Finance Minister Bedri Hamza and Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Christina Heldt.
Ambassador Heldt said signing agreements reached in the last few days between the two states is of great importance to economic development.
He has cited the continued support Germany has given for Kosovo, while stressing that they are intent on supporting it consistently in many ways, with particular emphasis on the field of education.
And through these agreements, according to him, employment opportunities will increase.
“To mention the purpose of today's agreements, in 2014 there were migrations of people to find a better life, and given that a large part of them could not stay in Germany, they had problems when they returned because of our countries' close reports, the German government has seen fit to assist Kosovo in their reintegration process. In 2016 we started our project to help restore ones. The goal was to give them a new case after their return. In this way employment opportunities will increase. So the goal of the Government of Germany is to increase economic development”, he said.
Finance Minister Bedri Hamza said these vehicles are a grant donated by German taxpayers for the Government of Kosovo, whose tools will be used for different projects, such as education, youth and employment.
He stressed that this agreement highlights Germany's support on the financial and technical level for Kosovo once again, as well as on the path towards EU integration as soon as possible. While he has thanked German taxpayers and the German state for their support.
“Today we are signing an additional agreement for 2017 with the German government, worth 12 million and 950 thousand euros, for support of several projects in the field of technical co-operation. I would like to inform you that this money is a grant, which does not need citizens of Kosovo to return... The agreement we signed today will be used for support of projects like the following: education, youth and employment. A project designed to increase the number of employed and reintegration of returnees. Also envisioned with this project is the drafting of the strategy and plans for national reintegration”, he said.
Promoting private areas, developing capacities in primary education in Kosovo, with particular focus on developing management processes, according to Hamza, will be several other projects that will be realised under this agreement.
According to him, realisation of these projects is of great importance to the country's development
