EU reconfirms European perspective to Balkan countries

“Sic is clearly confirmed this year, including by the European Council in March and by President Jean-Claude Juncker in his speech to the union situation in September, the year 2018 will bring a unique opportunity for the region to take an irreversible step forward in EU integration, if the non-reservational priority will be given necessary reforms, especially in the rule of law, justice and fundamental rights”, says a communique issued by the EU High Representative's office.
“With the restored dynamic in EU enlargement policy and opportunities to mark significant progress in the region, the high representative has underlined the need for Western Balkan partners to accelerate essential reforms and to produce results for citizens' expectations, and to take concrete steps towards European integration“, the communiqué says.
“The participants underlined their deep commitment and interest in strengthening co-operation and good neighbourly reports and promoting regional understanding. In this context, the importance of ongoing discussions by presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vuciq to advance in the EU facilitated dialogue for normalising the reports between Serbia and Kosovo was posted”, the report said further.
The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, in addition to participating in dinner together with colleagues from other countries in the region, has also had a bilatheral meeting with high representative Federica Moghrini.
Haradinaj after these meetings has not spoken before reporters in Brussels. For his position at the meeting, his office has imposed a proposal on the prime minister's official page.
“Prime Minister Haradinaj has said that Kosovo's EU integration path is irreversible and that Kosovo deserves equal treatment. Prime Minister Haradinaj was the first leader of the six Western Balkans to meet with Moghrin, before the informal joint dinner. Kosovo Prime Minister Haradinaj will also hold meetings with his counterparts from the region”, it is written in the prime minister's announcement.
Serbia's Prime Minister Ana Brnabiq has said after the meeting that her country with, as good “volunteers “put it, is proving willingness to fulfil obligations derived from the dialogue, but has said that, according to her, “such a will is not being seen in Pristina“.
Brnabyq has insisted once again on implementing the agreement on creating what it has called the “Serbian Communist Union in Kosovo“.
