Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May announced that the United Kingdom and the European Union have failed to reach agreement on the next phase of talks on Brexit.
Krey Minister May said that despite the progress achieved on certain issues, the parties failed to overcome differences on some other important issues. She said talks will resume before the weekend, and added that she is optimistic that they will end successfully.
These comments were made by the British Prime Minister during a joint conference with European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker.
He also said that it was not possible to reach a final agreement today, despite major efforts in the talks in Brussels, but that this is not a failure, however, and that he too is optimistic about achieving sufficient progress before a European Council summit held after ten days.
The European Union has said it will not talk about trade relations after Brex until an agreement is reached on the issue of citizens' rights, that of the divorce bill and the Irish border. Prime Minister May is trying to finalise the agreement before the European Union summit, which will be held in ten days.
