Election Campaigns Open for Local Elections in Presevo

The mayor of Presevo and Alternatives, Albania Arifi, competes in the elections and hopes to get 21 advisers in order to make the Municipal Parliament without the need of other parties, which this time have joined in his fear, even though in last year's elections they were the biggest enemies. Acting Chairman of Presevo, Albania Arifi, also head of the Alternative for Change, opened the electoral campaign at the House of Culture in Presevo today.
These elections in Presevo are common because political parties failed to establish the Municipal Assembly, which led to all deadlines being exceeded and provoked intervention by Serbia's government.
Disagreements began after the second-ranked party, the Alternative for Change, led by Albania Arifin making a coalition with the third party, PVD, sharing power together.
The two parties dismissed DPA chairman Ragmi Mustafa, who ruled for nearly 2 mandates.
Citizens in this case praised the change by hoping for governance that would bring development and prosperity, after many years of impasse.
However, the coalition between these two parties lasted only eight months, after the historic chairman of the PVD '%s, since its founding in the 1990s, Riza Halimi, took advantage of the occasion by individually cooperating with a disgruntled group of municipal advisers and forced Arifane to resign.
Although it was only the third party, it took up the mayor's post and all other positions in the city.
But he could not build the Parliament by provoking extraordinary choices. The citizens of Presevo today face only two alternatives.
This is Albania Arifi and two other parties, The PVD and the DPA, which from outright enemies, have now become collaborators, to prevent the third from ruling with Presevo. The two parties have opened the election campaign days ago. The elections will be held on December 23rd.
The Presevo municipality this year has had a budget of nearly 10m euros.
