Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has said it is not ruled out the possibility of increasing the price of electricity of 18.7 per cent warned by the Energy Regulatory Office(ZRRE).
Because, according to him, the country is producing energy with half capacity and the other half of it is being imported.
Minister Luka has said that citizens should be understood for Kosovo, that the New Kosovo energy project, which is signed today, is not part of the price hikes, because it has been misunderstood.
According to him, Kosovo is currently producing energy with half capacity at 400 So the other half is importing it, and this will continue for a period of about 4 to 6 months.
“Gjas are due to expropriation, but not as a result of the (new) thermal power plant, so there is a real possibility because expropriation has been hampered for two years now. Those (ZRRE) have reported about 18.7 growth, for what it is possible, because if it is done in the form as we are now walking, produce only half capacity and the other half (of energy) to import”, Minister Luka has said.
Otherwise, for today at 12: 00 a.m., a protest has been warned to hold to counter the rise in the price of electricity.
