The new State Commission for Marking and Maintaining the State Border has reiterated that the former commission has made no demarcation or sign of the line, but new border lines.
Representatives of this commission, who reported to the Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Affairs, Diaspotes and Strategic Investment, have stressed that they have drafted a preliminary and non-final report, as they say there has not been much time.
According to them, if they had more time, we would find even more mistakes made by the old commission, as well as facts. Commission members have said the government had given them the deadline to complete the report before the new year.
However, they say they are prepared for anything, even renegotiation, or international arbitration.
The chairman of this Commission, Bulqi, stressed that from the documentation offered to him, they have concluded that the former commission has exceeded competencies by allowing itself to introduce the release process without a preliminary agreement.
The agreement signed on the border at Article 4 of this agreement writes the state limit will be marked by border signs, the state border will be marked in the period two years from the entry into force of this agreement. This suggests that our commission has made no demarcation, no demarcation of the border line, but has made the definition of the 11x1> border line, Bulliqi has said.
From research conducted in local institutions and outside Kosovo's territory, Bulqi has said the Commission has come to the conclusion that many different infrastructure objects in that territory, which today are disutabil, have been managed by Kosovo.
Kosovo has managed with the road, Kosovo has built the road, paved the asphalt and maintained the road, as well as made those projects for the road. Kosovo has searched that territory on the basis of a letter we have from the Kosovo Police until 1201.2009, when for the first time from the Montenegrin side it is required that our companies from now on not go to maintain those streets that we have maintained for more than 67x1>, Bulqi said.
Bulliqi stresses when these and other research are taken into account that the Kosovo Autonomous Socialist province's administrative line is not identical to the border line the former commission has produced.
The Kosovo government has already prosecuted it for the Kosovo Assembly, the Bill for the ratification of border demarcation with Montenegro, along with the findings of the State Commission for Border Marking.
Aida Drcgut MP from the Vetevendosje Movement has called the draft proceedings in the Kosovo Assembly with a preliminary report, and has asked the Commission to know the time when they will have a final report.
“
Opposition MPs from the past legislature claimed that with the 2015 Agreement, for marking the border line with Montenegro, Kosovo has lost over 8 thousand hectares of territory. Part of the opposition then was incumbent Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who is known for rejecting the version of the current demarcation agreement with Montenegro.
Ratification of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro is believed to be holding the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens hostage, because the European Commission has set it as a condition that Kosovo must meet for visa removal.
