China disagrees with the United States, supports Jerusalem as capital of Palestine

The Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) made its announcement at a summit in Istanbul on Wednesday and condemned the US decision on recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital, reports “RT” Transmission Periscope.
“Kina understands the concern of Islamic countries for the status of Jerusalem,” said the spokesman Lu Kang, according to the state media of “Xinhua”, adding that she is calling for a “resolution of the issue in line with relevant UN resolutions and international consensus”.

The United Nations views eastern Jerusalem as the conquered Palestinian territory, but it hopes that one day Jerusalem will become the capital of two states, Israel and Palestine.
Last week the UN confirmed that its position remains unchanged in light of Donald Trump's announcement that the United States would accept Jerusalem as the capital of Israel to move its embassy from Tel Aviv there.
China also demanded that dialogue resume immediately between Israel and Palestine, so a comprehensive and fair solution to the Palestinian issue can be found.
Geng Shuang, spokesman for China's foreign ministry, voiced concerns last week that Trump's statement would cause a escalation of war.
China is now Israel's third largest partner, after the US and the European Union, and its second largest export destination.
In August, China unveiled a proposal aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
