The Republic of Kosovo Central Election Commission has been praised with the first place of the International Election Award in the “Election Management category”.

This award has been handed to Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka for his successful leadership at a ceremony held in Jordan organised by the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS). The event is held in partner with Jordan's Independent Election Commission (IEC) and in co-operation with the European Centre for Election Support (ECES).

At this ceremony, CEC chairwoman Daka also held a presentation concerning the management of election processes in the Republic of Kosovo and co-operation with other state institutions, the CEC report said.

Initially, Mayor Daka has presented before the audience a history of Kosovo, as well as the role of the CEC defined with the Constitution.

In detail, Mayor Daka has also stopped in the co-operation of the CEC with other state institutions, such as the Kosovo Police, the State Prosecutor, as well as with the institutions of justice, which according to her is necessary in managing the entire election process, as each of these institutions has its own role in different phases of the election process.

Election management bodies from various countries in the world are participating in the event to share the best practices and develop innovative strategies that can be practiced in their respective countries.
