American conventioner resigns because of charges of sexual harassment

Democrat congresswoman John Conyers, the oldest member of the U.S. Congress, has announced his retirement Tuesday due to charges of sexual harassment and decided that his seat would reach the boy.

“I'm in the process of doing my retirement plans together and you'll have more announcements very soon... I'm retiring today”, Conners said in an interview for Detroit radio, Reuters reports.

I have a good family, and especially my eldest son, John Conyers III, who will by chance be substitutes in my congressional chair”, has added the conventioner, who has been in the post since 1964, broadcast Koha.net.

The Ethics Committee last week launched investigations into Conyers, 88-year-old, after saying his office had chosen a case of harassment with a former staff member, whom they had paid but refused guilt.

Conners is the first American politician to resign because of the recent wave of sexual harassment charges. He denied the charges during this radio interview.

Whatever they are, they're not accurate and they're not true, and I think they're something I can't explain where they're from from”, Coneyers said.
