Swiss ambassador says Kosovo cannot be removed without meeting criteria

Switzerland's ambassador to Kosovo, Jean Hubert Lebet, said visas will not be removed for Kosovo until conditions required by the European Union are met.

Hubert Lebet said Switzerland and Kosovo are the same.

We've been poor and we're without a natural resource, but Switzerland has created employment opportunities and so we've run out of youth migration. He said Kosovars will have the opportunity to choose whether to emigrate or not. According to him, Kosovo institutions have solid progress with regard to migration management.

Interior Affairs Minister Flamur Sefaj said migration as a phenomenon has been and is an important part of Kosovo's development.
