The relatives of the Kumanovo group's convicts, associations released from the war of the former KLA, the Association of Former persecuted and political convicts and several other organisations have protested Sunday in Skopje against the sentence of 30 members of the group to 746 years in prison and 7 others to life imprisonment.
They demanded that the case be investigated by the international community in order to find the real authors and congregators of the events at the Kumanovo Trimian Quarter.
“We demand that the entire May 9th and May 10th event be investigated and prosecuted by internationals, as Macedonia's high structures have been involved as manipulative, inflammatory and tempting in making up the May 9th scenario. The Ministry of Interior Affairs, the head of the Macedonian secret service and the director of public security are architects, idealologists, the commissioners, as well as omens of the events in Kumanovo”.
“The hearings, physical prosecution and files opened by Macedonian police services eight months before the tragic events against our children, show and unequivocally implement Macedonia's highest then head of state”, said Love Sefa, representative of the council of family members of the convicted group. It accused the leaders of Macedonia's institutions of mistreating members of the group from the day of their arrest until their judgment.
