Putin, Assad meet, talk about political solution

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has met with his Syrian counterpart, Bashar Assad.

Both have talked about the political process in Syria, where Putin, among other things, has said that the fight against terrorisation in the crisis-hit country is very close to completion, Reuters writes, Klen Kosova quoted.

He has even congratulated Assad on the results in the fight against this phenomenon at the meeting held in Sochi.

Putin and Assad have talked about the political solution in Syria, believing it must be done under the protection of the United Nations.

They have stressed that they hope that international troops will be an active part of this process and in its latest phase.
