President Thaci for Serbian media: I was forced to begin forming the Special Court

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said US Vice President Michael Pence confirms that the US will be actively involved in dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

“Dialog is already entering a new phase, and EU High Representative Federica Moghrini needs such support. Therefore, it is imperative that America has a role in this process”, Thaci said in an interview with Belgrade's Remarker portal.

He noted he was recently in Washington to meet with US Vice President Michael Pence from whom he has received confirmation that Washington is actively involved in dialogue.

Their “Role is to bring more credibility, confidence and stability into the process, Thaci said.

Asked when the Union of Serbian municipalities will be established, Taci has said that the sooner “the better it will be because it is in line with Kosovo's laws, and that is an international obligation Kosovo took over in Brussels”, he said.

Thaci on this occasion called on all Serbs who have left to return to Kosovo.

We will do everything in our power to accommodate the displaced and integrate into Kosovo society”, Thaci said.

He added that the invitation to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to visit Pristina was “always open”.

“I didn't receive an invitation to visit Belgrade, but I was willing to come when the call came”, Hashim Thaci said.

Speaking of forming the Special Court for alleged KLA crimes, he said forming the tribunal was necessary to maintain partnership with internationals.

“In order to maintain partnership with NATO, the EU and the US, I have begun and working to have this court voted in the Kosovo Assembly. Kosovo has its obligations. Politically I paid the price of such a decision, but I think it was the only street”, Thaci said.

Meanwhile, in terms of charges of trafficking human organs during the Kosovo war, Thaci said this is a fiction and there is nothing true in this story.

These charges are science fiction, never happened. It was a terrible lie and a fabricated news designed to draw attention to”, Thaci said.

Asked to comment on the fact that Serbia's leaders performed agreements signed during the Brussels negotiations as a victory, Thaci said it is not unusual for Serbian leaders to celebrate defeat.
