Journal “The New Age” has implemented with an interview with prominent Albanian academic, Rexhep Qosja.
One. Mr. Qosja, on November 28th, marks the 105th anniversary of Albania's Declaration of Independence. How do you see the Albanian state's walk for these years?
- Throughout these years, since it was created, the Albanian state, Albania, has tried nearly all the political-state and constitutional-juridical forms: despotine, tyranny, dictatorship, democracy, though undemocratic. He tried a party order and multiparty order. He has experienced totalitarianism, populism, anarchism, authoritarianism! Now it is experiencing legitimate governance, represented by the elected in free and democratic elections, and the opposition's extremely vicious efforts for parallel power!
During these 105 years, Albania has experienced decline and rise, the most devoted homelandrism preached and built with totalitarian means both in the time of communism and the decomposing of propaganda that offends the state, which offends the mentality, which wanted the authors of this propaganda, give foreigners the conviction that the traditionally known people of the Albanians are an ethical people! And that's happening in Albania today. It's getting out of the DP!
However, Albania, looking historically, has moved forward, developed and developed, has also become with the second Albanian state, with Kosovo free and independent state, its urbanism is apparently developing, increasingly visible efforts are being made for the success of the new generation and for the welfare of the people.
- Professor, do you see the national union close and possible? What would be the good or bad for this union?
- I've been talking about the national union, about joining Kosovo with Albania. And it shall come to pass one day: but in the day when it shall come to pass, I cannot know, neither can I know, because I am not a prophet. The biggest significance of this union is the growth, growth, enrichment, providing economic, educational, health, scientific, cultural, and civilisation opportunities of the Albanian people for better life, for general, contemporary, civilisation, all Albanians.
- How did you understand President Hashim Thaci's statement, which requested from his counterpart from Albania, Ilir Meta, that the Albanian state allow citizenship to the citizens of Kosovo, in order to avoid isolation, which, according to him, has the European Union assigned to Kosovo?
I liked this statement, and I liked it so much, because if it was given a positive answer, Kosovo and Albania would unite in a state, achieving the national ideal of many generations. But Hashin Thaci had not thought of his statement that way. According to my conviction, this was a statement of threats, with which its translator, Hashim Thaci, wanted in Kosovo's opinion to at least ease his responsibility for some decisions and signatures of the Kosovo government five-six years as long as he was prime minister and, later, foreign minister.
Prior to this statement, which Ilir Meta humbly rejected, Hashim Thaci addressed the Albanian opinion in Kosovo and wherever it was with a slightly longer and more explanatory statement that it for the citizenship of the Kosovars he asked for from Albania, in which he said the European Union (and the United States of America) has put Kosovo in a trap, so it is today exposed: with the borderline issue with Montenegro, with the necessity of establishing the Community of the Serbs and the Special Court!
I believe the largest number of Albanians know that Hashim Thaci is signatory of the agreement for demarcation with Montenegro as he has explained and as Montenegro's leadership in Vienna has requested. And it is a signatory of this highly harmful agreement on Kosovo without advising the Parliament, without consulting historians, without advising lawyers of international law!
I believe the largest number of Albanians have seen and heard for weeks, not for months, but for years, how many efforts have been made by Hashim Thaci, the foreign minister and then Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa for accepting the borderline Agreement with Montenegro, as Montenegro demanded, for the establishment of the Serb Communist Community, as Kosovo Serbs and the Government of Serbia called it, and for the establishment of the Special Court (Scial) until it was finally created!
All three of these government agreements, all three of them, are serious, historical mistakes that Kosovo took too long, which I fear will be paid dearly with territory, with violated sovereignty, certainly endangered.
- Local elections were held in Kosovo. We found that the winner in this process came up with the AAK and the Vetevendosje Movement, while the LDK did not fare badly after preserving the vote in its bookies, but The PDK lost four municipalities in which it ruled. Your comment on this election process?
-I'm listening on television analysts, members of nongovernmental organisations, members of parties participating in local elections, actually in local re-elections, which are calling the runoff, that parties participating went through better or worse, reaped success or were dependent on the candidates proposed for mayor of municipalities. In my opinion, the candidate for the mayor, his merits, his abilities, or his disabilities, his virtues or vices, does not appear to me in this election the main cause of the party's success or failure. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo won the most obvious success in this election because Ramush Haradinaj was prime minister; because Ramush Haradinaj was twice in The Hague tribunal; because Ramush Haradinaj was actually detained, actually imprisoned in France for perhaps even the scandalous statement by the next prime minister, Isa Mustaf, to him; because ahead of the elections Ramush Haradinaj was presented with a popular language, with syntax, with fraseology, with popular age, which the people like.
The Democratic League of Kosovo you're saying it didn't go wrong in this election and I can say it did very well because it organised the campaign better than other parties, organised it in a row, with many participants, with many demagogues, with many frauds, with many empty patriotic rhetoric, which many of our voters easily believe. Political and power experience, organizer and field experience of the Communist League is still serving the Democratic League well!
The Vetevendosje movement may have passed slightly better than in past local elections, but not as expected. Her campaign was more contemporary - more or less far from the traditional taste of the greatest number of our voters!
The Democratic Party of Kosovo was the loser in these local elections. And it was the failure of these elections because, I regret, its prestige in opinion has fallen and has fallen for a variety of reasons. As far as I can hear, as I read, a lot of people blame it. PDK for a series of bad things in Kosovo today! They blame it for corruption, nepotism, much higher on foreign policy than that of LDK and for some other problems. Next chairman of The PDK, Kadri Veselin, is not, but, if it continues with some behavior, actions, current thoughts, it may become guilty of failing to bring further PDK success. The main blame for the PDK's failure to succeed in these elections, as well as early general elections, of declining its prestige, of the despair of most people in its politics, is former President Hashim Thaci. He with his cadre policy has damaged PDK. He has consistently taken care of being surrounded by servile people, with servile people in all areas in which his policy, party and government extended. Of the greatest number of citizens, therefore even from the citizen of Pristina, Rexhep Qruja, he is blamed for even indemecibility for primitive Nepotism, because for their prevention he did nothing, in the time of his government no measures have been taken! It is also blamed for some of the other political evils others speak of today.
He has now been relieved of the PDK chairman's office, has left the other packed pot, and is looking at the sides that are all boiling in it!
You shouldn't, no way, and never, The PDK will do what the LDK does and does what it does: make MPs, advance journalists and journalists to the party, with a willingness to persecute orly persecute intellectuals who criticise its policy or powers! And that's what the PDK is doing, it's been doing over the past few years, and it's getting rough today. That was last month! And more and more!
- The impression that you are a supporter of Vetevendosje's policy has recently been made in opinion. In many cases have you come up with attitudes to protect the actions of activists of the Vetevendosje Movement?
- I'm creative, independent intellectual, with political and social social social convictions. And because of its program essentially Social Democrats Movement Vetevendosje objectively, today, it is closer than other parties called large, whose policies and ideologies jump to the right, to the left, to the middle, and most often to the personal and party pocket! But I do not consider myself united with any party, so neither with Vetevendosje.
I fear that, as I perceive some of its silence, one day I may be depressed even in Vetevendosje. She knows, she is well informed, that the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, the word comes, is violating the Constitutions and laws. The official's admission, to the party and state positions, to the academy, even in the last elections, is a clear and serious conflict of interest! The last time individuals have been admitted to the Academy, which they call mainly the dispensation for students for scientific works. Vetevendosje has heard and seen these deltas but remain silent. And, silently, perhaps, why does any of her officials hope that one day it will be easier to accept the academy by enduring it rather than condemning its sheepies, which should be punished not only orally and politically.
Kosovo's Academy of Sciences and Arts is violating the Constitution and the laws of Kosovo, except for others, even by taking the right to elect Kosovo's leading creators to the Academy of almost 65 years of age is the water supply and channeling enterprise, and at the age of 65 you cannot be employed in that enterprise! Vetevendosje knows this delta that makes hatred of the talented, but keeps silent, as the LDK silences, whose former chairman has become a member of the Academy without any scientific merit and being head of Pristina and then LDK! Self - determination knows these unconstitutional and counterethic tricks, but keep silent, keeping many intellectuals quiet!
Do you think Vetevendosje that Kosovo can be healed politically and legally with sweeping words and sentences, abstractly and not by healing separately, namely, its institutions, its political, economic, educational, health, scientific, cultural, such as the rotten Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo? If its ancestors continue to think that way, Vetevendosje will think and act wrongly.
You said I had <x0-seconds with attitudes to protect the actions of Vetevendosje Movement activists”. You forgot that I have expressed myself against throwing tear gas into the Kosovo Assembly. But I defend Vetevendosje activists when they are subjected to violence, when their human rights are violated, when Vetevendosje is attacked as attacked by slander, falsehood, hatred, especially after victory in general elections, and now on the threshold and during local elections, which was attacked by attack by local elections. PDK and LDK. I defend Vetevendosje because the PDK's LDK make efforts to dismantle it, eliminate it, while Vetevendosje with its policy and programme needs Kosovo very much. Even the current, vicious campaign, with neo-Assist actions against imprisoned activists, now against its most prominent figures, Albin Kurti, Albulen Haxhiu and Donika Kada Buyip, clearly testifies to this political, power, police and “justiceist” of LDK and PDK against Vetevendosje! I protect the right. Tomorrow could be someone else being vulnerable, and I'll continue to be on the side of the unjustly vulnerable.
How can I not protect Vetevendosje activists? How? I say, how can it not be protected by Vetevendosje activists? Those for months, for years, are being terrorised by being taken to the courts! They've been terrorized in prisons for years! They are being terrorized by being dragged into the streets, squares, and courts just because they have thrown tear gas in the Assembly, tear gas that police throw out to citizens almost every time they protest!
Like not to act in defense of Vetevendosje activists when the Pristina Constitutional Court, ordered by two rival Vetevendosje parties of the LDK and PDK, unjustly condemns a daughter and three boys to 21 years and six months in prison, so for what it condemns: for trafficking in bricks, because they allegedly broke a brick of four and a half of their glass in the Kosovo Assembly!
How can you not defend Vetevendosje when The PDK is done with the LDK with the party that hasn't left anything, it leaves black without talking, without writing, without publishing, without turning against. The wartime KLA here in Kosovo, and a lot of angles in the world, and it's done with LDK only to kidnap Vetevendosje candidates in Pristina and Prizren!
And how did they rob them of victory, with what? Of course, with violence, political and rhetorical violence because they peacefully lost general elections and these local elections and tried to rob them of victory, quickly, without even counting on bail. So without the election process! And asked with the means of political and rhetorical violence to count all votes, even though no complaints were filed against the elections, even though CEC chairman Valdete Daka said “these elections were the best from 2008”.
But, fortunately, Kosovo s '%i has all courts like the Pristina Foundation Court. Fortunately, Kosovo also has courts like the Supreme Court of Kosovo. This court ruled, quickly, in favour of Vetevendosje's complaint, and thus overcome the political and rhetorical violence of the LDK and PDK towards local elections, in fact, against Vetevendosje.
Fortunately yesterday's decision was made, law and ethics, I also say, for the release of two deputies Albulen Haxhiu and Donika Caday Buyup and MP Albin Kurti. Those imprisoned, thanks to the court's decision, had the kindness that these three prison deputies bring safely to their homes. And so for Kosovo's benefit both Justice and Ethica prevailed. But I want to hope that Kosovo's justice will also bring a great legal and ethical winner to itself, so Kosovo -- will release four Vetevendosje activists, Adean, Fraser, Egzon and Homeland sentenced to 21 years and six months in prisons for invented terrorism to bricks!
Injustice, falsehood, deception I cannot stand and express myself and speak against their authors until I am alive.
Righteousness, and falsehood, and deceit, I suffer them not; and to my living, I will stand up for them that are wronged, for those against whom it is done, and for lying, and for deceit, and for hatred.
- As far as I know you haven't been declared for Haradinaj Government. What is your opinion of this government, which is headed by Ramush Haradinaj. Can I complete the full mandate?
- For Ramush Haradinaj government prime minister PDK-AAK-Nisma has spoken briefly in the (interview) conversation in the Tirana newspaper Day on September 15th 2017.
I think Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has not done well for himself or for Kosovo, small and poor, why he has created a government with 21 ministries as much as China! It is said that the more unaware a government is, the more the minister creates.
Ramush Haradinaj has not done well for himself or for Kosovo why 21 ministries have been assigned 50 and how many deputy ministers! I mean, every minister's got five of them. Much for Great Britain or Germany too!
Ramush Haradinaj has not done well for himself or for Kosovo why he has assigned 15 advisers to himself -- too if Kosovo were China or India.
Ramush Haradinaj has not done well for himself or for Kosovo why he has collected several hundred, the media are saying an army, deputy prime minister, ministers, their deputy, their various deputy, different councillors and officials in his government and about his government! Very, very much if Kosovo were China, Brazil or Indonesia!
Ramush Haradinaj has not done well for himself or for Kosovo why he has allowed -- very soon after being elected prime minister -- to be elected as his son-in-law or mayor, whether he knows what leadership position at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo. And furthermore, Ramush Haradinaj is not doing well for himself either, and let alone for Kosovo why he is employing party activists and other party lovers who are unemployed or who aren't in jobs they like very much. He thus quickly gave evidence that he could become a supporter of prontos and collaborators, who at one time rightly criticized them so strongly.
Ramush Haradinaj is not doing well for himself, and especially is not doing well for Kosovo that is silent is seeing the unacceptable, harmful, abusive, abuseful state at the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, which as the LDK institution and now increasingly visible of the PDK's LDK, has become the private home of a clan steeped in political, social and professional dilemmas in that private house, and a clan that the Academy has deprived of its scientific research mission and has made and publishing houses with the pre-convenors, the clan that has fed the institution to its most talented researchers, and a provision of the ability of Kosovo's ability to lay down on its own collective parliament, and that will also be used to lay down on two powers of sovereigntys, even with the rest of the Romanians, and the rest of the Romanians of the Romanians, the Romanian authorities, and the Romanians, and the authorities, the Romanians, the Romanians, and the Romanians, will not yet, and the Romanians, and the Romanians, the Romanians, the Romanians, also, will not yet, and the Romanians, have the most, the Romanians, the Romanians, the Romanians
- We've been thinking about this conversation with seven questions, so I'm asking you one more question. What do you think of the media today?
We have enough media. We have better media. We have good journalists, we have journalists who respect the ethical code of journalism, and we have journalists who often violate that code. We have independent journalists and have journalists selling their souls to different political, party and state officials and institutions. For our media I've written more extensively in my last book The Corruption Power. In this case, I want to express a particular concern that I have not highlighted in that book. I am very worried about the creation of a new class made up of rich policy people by extortioning Kosovo and other Kosovo extortioners, rich in serving political people and institutions caught by them. In the face of this new class of users, explorers, is the class of the poor, scamor, who seek ways to abandon Kosovo and find social salvation in the foreign world. Sadly!
Flag Day is the biggest holiday in the history of the Albanian people. Let's celebrate happily. Of course, the number of festivals is not large, but they also experience festive joys quickly. The year, meanwhile, has 365 days filled with all kinds of feelings and thoughts.
Our political and social situation at this time marks many bad things about some of whom are discussed in this conversation: They grieve and grieve the people. That's why I need to say a prayer to the people: Get down, people!
