Representatives of the organisation “North Council” have again voiced their concern over the security situation in that part of the country, calling on police reports on attacks on Albanians and the destruction of their recently occurring properties.
Those at a news conference today in Lagen Kroi i Vitakutı in northern Mitrovica have mentioned other problems facing them, such as the reconstruction of houses in the north, the return of Albanians to their usurped residences, compensation for 18 years for the north who pay rent to the south, and the unconditional return of Albanian workers to public institutions.
Representatives of this organisation have directly accused outgoing Mitrovica chairman Agim Bahtiri of not having total interest in Albanians of that part as they sought public debate with him on all issues belonging to them
Nazmi Ismajli, chairman of the Northern Council organisation, accused outgoing Chairman Agim Bahtiri of his false statements about the overall situation in the north and the situation of Albanian residents in that part.
Between 2008 and 2013, some 240 houses have been built, many new buildings have been renovated, many roads, sewers, public lighting, aquifers, and residents of rent, scholarships, free travel. As for Agim Bahtiri in power, northern Albanian residents are left in the dark... the North Council is willing to come to public debate with Agim Bahtiri wherever and wherever he wishes. Agim, get police reports about how many Albanians have been beaten up recently and how many of their property has been damaged, while you go out publicly and talk about full security in the north. Agim, please don't play with the feelings of the citizens of the north who are suffering from 18 years now”, Ishmael said.
