The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned last night's incident with the burning of Macedonia's flag in Pec and Gjilan, yesterday after the arrangements were submitted in case “Brave neighborhood”
“MPJ expresses regret and condemnation for yesterday's act of burning Macedonia's flag by members of cheerleading groups in Pec and Gjilan, the Republic of Kosovo. We expect that the Kosovo services will undertake activities to determine the responsibility of leaders”, mentioned in the MPJ's response to MIA.
In protest of the Skopje Criminal Court's decision to sentence eight members of the Kumanovo group to life imprisonment last night in Kosovo towns Peja and Gjilan publicly burned the flags of the Republic of Macedonia.
According to Kosovo media, flags were burned at protests in both cities due to court rulings, where “Albanians were calling for protection of their rights, fighting the injustice caused by slavo-Macedonian”.
Media stress that members of Macedonia's fan group “have participated in burning Macedonia's flag in Gjilan. Hawks”
“In sign of revolts over the injustice committed against our heroes from the Slavic state of Macedonia tonight we burned their flag, here before the memorial of legendary Agim Ramadani Katana, in Gjilan. We call on all Albanian citizens to oppose this and protect the Albanian people in Ilirida. Albania will do”, ordered by the football club fan group from Gjilan.
Eight life sentences -- 13 out of 40 years, six out of 20, one out of 18 years, two out of 14, two out of 13, two out of 12 years in prison, and four legal acts of liberation -- were appointed to the accused for the events in Kumanovo in May 2015, where eight members of the security forces and ten members of the armed group were seriously injured and about forty special police officers were injured.
