Trade and Industry Minister Bajram Hasani has reported before the Economic Development Commission today, where he said the MTI priority is supporting businesses and companies for their development.
Hasan said the ministry's priority is to promote and promote foreign investment and the diaspora.
“Market improvement and consumer protection are among the other MTI priorities and reform programmes. Also improving doing business in Kosovo. Market advancement and the protection of local products always devoted to Kosovo's economic development”, Hasani said.
LDK member Hykmete Bajrami said the good projects that have remained in half hope to be continued by the new leadership.
She sought to know how businesses and the private sector will be supported. Concern for Bajram has also been the founding of two new ministries -- the Diaspores and strategic investments -- and the one for innovation.
Bajrami has also asked for clarifications on the project to certificate products, as well as control of oil quality and politics in this direction of the MTI.
Commission member Mimoza Kusari-Lila also raised concerns about forming two new ministries and reducing MTI's competencies.
Kusari-Lila has asked Minister Bajrami for clarification of the co-ordination of foreign investors, whether they should head to the Diaspora Ministry or to the MTI.
She has also sought to know the goal of the MTI for Kosovo's relations with CEFTA, because according to her next year, Kosovo has the right to lead it.
Kusari-Lila has also established trade exchanges, which according to her, Kosovo has no trade balance.
Minister Hasani, answering the questions of members of this Commission, stressed that the Strategic Investment Law would soon be alive.
“All functions for foreign investment remain on K The IESA and there are no transfers of competencies to the Ministry of Diaspora and Innovation, so the address for foreign investors remains the Agency for Foreign Investment Promoting KIESA, which is under the MTI”, Hasani said, clarifying that competencies remain the same as they were in CIESA.
He has clarified that in 15th of this month the laboratory for oil quality will be activated. According to him, the economic areas that have been under way are functioning.
As for CEFTA, he said Kosovo should be represented as a state in CEFTA, not on behalf of the UNPC, and will consider the position for withdrawal from CEFTA.
He said 23rd this month will participate in an official Serbian meeting and pressure Kosovo's position on CEFTA
In this report, Hykmete Bajrami has asked for clarification on the decision to import flour and its effects on the price of bread, as well as why this minister made no decision about wheat. She has sought assurances of the price of bread in this regard.
For the flour decision, Minister Hasani said this has come about the rescue of the flour industry, and that is also allowed by law.
He has cited Serbia's reactions and a Kosovo Assembly MP, who, according to him, may be touching someone's decision on flour.
