The U.S. Department of Justice has drawn up an indictment for blocking the purchase of Time Winter, owner of CNN and HBO by the telecom giant AT&T.
The department said the merger would reduce competition and lead to higher prices for consumers. AT&T has said it will reject the indictment, calling it a radical distance from the competition practice in the United States.
US President Donald Trump rejected the agreement during his campaign last year, fuelling controversy. AT&T leaders said, meanwhile, that they thought the agreement has been on a good road until recently. They refer to concerns about potential political influence at a time when Trump himself is known as a loud critic of CNN, which is in my possession, Werner.
According to AT&T leaders, there have been many speculations and reports that everything is done for CNN. In his indictment, the Justice Department claimed that the deal, worth more than $85 billion when it was announced last year, would harm American consumers.
