The Kosovo government has held a solemn meeting in honour of US Congressman Eliot Engel.
Prime Minister Haradinaj's case in this case hands over to Congressman Engel, a silver elder made by Kosovo Post, with his stamp and photographs, in honour of what Engel has done for Kosovo in all her stages.
“Thanks once again to Congressman Engel for his commitment to free, democratic and independent Kosovo, which was proven and supported yesterday for an election, democratic and free process. I also have to be told today that I have the honour of symbolically handing over the silver age, the old ladies who have a stamp, set by the Kosovo Post, the stamp dedicated to the Congressman, with which the post honours the Congressman, but not only the post and government and the country's” institutions, he said. .
While saying that what characterizes this government, it is a similar job with the US Embassy in Kosovo, with the aim of deepening relations between the people of Kosovo and the US.
It is the deepening of a friendship that is special and that springs from the difficult times of our people.
American Congressman Eliot Engel told Haradinaj that he is doing an excellent job and that he feels good about the progress achieved in Kosovo.
And I know that you will do a great job as prime minister. Kosovo is building a multiethnic society and I think this country is going to do something that no other country has yet done... makes me feel good that you have achieved a lot of progress to come and sit here, for me it's like a dream come true”, he said.
Engel also said Kosovo would have its support and that of the US. While stressing that one day they will also celebrate Kosovo's entry into the EU and NATO.
Over the years, I have seen this country grow stronger in terms of its pledges of freedom and democracy. I know that one day we will celebrate Kosovo's entry into NATO and the EU, and that is the goal we have for the future. Mr. Prime Minister, thanks is the right time. You're the right people at the right time. You can always count on me as a friend of yours, always have my back”, he said.
Haradinaj asked him to help Kosovo and on some open issues.
“Do not close the dialogue with Serbia, do not get the remaining recognitions from EU countries, and our failure to achieve as a member of the UN reveals Kosovo major obstacles to domestic development. Although we are defined Euro-Atlantic society, and with conviction and vision, we face more difficulties than the countries of the region. Even Kosovo citizens are not free with free circle. For example, we have a visa regime from the EU, which is difficult for Kosovo citizens. So we use this opportunity that we have today to pray to him as a friend and as a man who enjoys great authority in Washington to unite once again, as in the most important stages of Kosovo, Washington and we can close the remaining open issues for Kosovo. We think that without your direct assistance it is harder to close the remaining open issues from 1999 on Kosovo. The ones that aren't close en. We pray and ask for your help on behalf of the Kosovo government, on behalf of the people. We also guarantee that this assistance will be honored by developing real democracy in Kosovo”, he said.
US Congressman Eliot Engel presented Haradinaj with the U.S. flag, which waves at the convention building July 4th on American Day, at Elliot Engel's request to honour Ramush Haradinaj.
Haradinaj called this a great gesture by his friend, whom he said he would hold in honour.
Engel spoke about elections held the previous day, which he said were wonderful and that this country has made all those advances.
While asked about Haradinaj's request for America's involvement in dialogue with Serbia, he said he would lobby for America to have a safe involvement in Balkan and Kosovo.
“The Prime Minister told me many times, he always feels better when the United States is involved and I feel like telling him the truth. So we have a new Government in the United States that hasn't done the year, and they're solving some of their issues, but when I get back from this trip, I'm going to try to make sure America has a safe involvement in the Balkans and Kosovo. Those meetings are important. We must have a timetable, so that this country can move to join the EU and NATO, progress must be achieved. I think the U.S. has a voice that's bigger, more loud and will do all I can to push these things because it's the right and right”, he said.
At the same time asked whether Haradinaj has been negotiating the demarcation with Montenegro, he said he opposes holding Kosovo hostage, due to this issue, but that this issue should be resolved.
“I think demarcation is important issue and is one of the issues that needs to be resolved. The sooner it is resolved, the better. It's not the only issue, and there are many other issues. I am against holding Kosovo hostage because of this issue. However, it is a question that must be resolved”, he said.
