Ramzan Cadyrov, leader of Chechenia, says he is also willing to die for Vladimir Putin and resign if he is asked.
The statement comes ahead of next year's federal presidential elections, preceded by a host of movements in leadership positions that have put some politicians in uncertainty.
41-year-old Cadirov, in an interview giving Russian state television, spoke of what he considers his main achievements while on a clip he appeared boxing, riding a horse or even giving opinions about everything, from polygamy to gay marriage.
His comments seemed like a tactic he has used before to ensure the Kremlin's political approval, something he has not lacked or will miss.
Cadirov has shown that he is committed to working where the country's president commands”, said Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov.
Whoever rules the majority Muslim region, it is important for the Kremlin, given that Chechnya has twice been committed to war with Moscow following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, but now, in exchange for generous subsidies and a wide degree of autonomy, vows full loyalty.
Cadirov, has been running Chechnya for the last decade, during which time human rights groups have abused him for abuse. But he is viewed by Moscow as the guarantor of continuing and raised by the Kremlin specifically for his role, following the assassination of his father in 2004.
In the interview, he called Putin his idol. “I am willing to give my life for it and fulfill any order”, he said.
