CEC: In elections 38,10% of citizens voted

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) during yesterday's second round of local elections said that in 19 of Kosovo municipalities 38.10% of citizens have used their right to vote, in contrast with the first run of local elections where 43,70% of citizens had voted, writes the newspaper “Zri” today. Despite that, the CEC also announced peaceful and successful elections without any incident that would damage the integrity of the elections.
Also, the CEC, after the end of the second round of elections, expressed satisfaction with the election organisation and prosperity throughout the day, noting there have been reports of any irregularities during the day worth mentioning.
Valdete Daka, chairman of the CEC, has said the second round election process has been conducted in a calm and good manner.
“We are satisfied because the process has gone smoothly and without any reporting that would damage the integrity of these” elections, Valdete Daka, chairman of this Commission, has said.
Engel: The US is always here for Kosovo American corruptionist Eliot Engel, on a visit to the Central Election Commission, expressed his satisfaction that the state of Kosovo is organising free and democratic elections and expressed US and his support especially towards Kosovo.
There was a time when people told me that Kosovo's independence would probably not happen, and I told them it would happen on time and one day all of us will be in a free and independent Kosovo. Here we are in free and independent Kosovo and free democratic elections and seeing this how many people care about democracy, and that makes me very special. As you know, the US is the great supporter of Kosovo and I will do everything is in my power to ensure that both countries are working together and building democracy together”, he said.
