The U.S. Embassy in Kosovo through a statement to the media has been disappointed by yesterday's report of the new border commission before the European Integration Assembly Commission, saying the statements of this commission are unfounded, confusing and fallible.
The existing “Agreement reflects an exact process of determining the border, confirmed by the Kosovo state commission and numerous internationally recognised experts. In 2015 The State Department confirmed that the original agreement exactly reflected the border line that has existed between Kosovo and Montenegro since 1974, the US Embassy has said.
There have been no evidence to question that decision since then. Questioning the agreement and procrastinating the ratification process threaten Kosovo's relations with its neighbours and with the EU, leaving Kosovo and its isolated citizens”, the statement said.
The US Embassy calls on Kosovo institutions to work to promote citizens' interests on this issue, saying Kosovo politicians should look beyond their party's personal interests and party policy, and focus on citizens' needs by ratifying the existing agreement as soon as possible.
