The crossing at the Karadija border checkpoint was opened after noon Saturday, after blocking hundreds of travelers since Friday evening, who were forced to spend the night in vehicles.
As a result of the flow created at the border after this problem, only Greek residents were allowed access, but Greek citizens themselves were blocked by 6 o'clock in the morning.
The Albanian side clarified that the computer system was blocked for technical causes, which occurred at all points in Greece's border crossing, including those with Macedonia and Turkey.
Something like that was confirmed by Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati, who went to Kakaville to see the situation. He assured that the event was not intentional, as he had intensive communication with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Kotzias, and Greek Interior Minister Nikos Toskas, on resolving the situation at border points with Greece.
Due to the problem with the fall of the system across Greece, between Minister Bushati and Minister Toskas agreed to launch the movement, enabling the passport scan.
Meanwhile, MEPJ representative Glevin Dervishi was alone at the border crossing point of Kakajija, when he announced the achievement of the pro-visual settlement.
I'm here with my Interior Ministry colleagues and our consul in Iania. We want to inform you two things. We are representatives of the Foreign Ministry, Minister Bushati, together with Minister Godbarko, since he met you here, have been in constant communication with Greek authorities, namely with Foreign Minister Cotzia and Interior. We also confirm from our sources that there is a system problem on all sides where Greece has access to non-Schengen areas, so with Macedonia and Turkey. However, we have managed to find a promising solution. The movement has begun since now. You can continue at the border crossing point, your passports will be recorded, and then when the system starts at full capacity, they will be registered. This is a technical solution during this period, until it gets a final solution”, Glevin Dervisi has expressed itself.
