The Kosovo Journalists' Association condemns the arrest of colleague and AGK member Blerim Uka in Skopje, Macedonia.
AGK has reported that colleague Uka was arrested during the day while he was reporting for the trial hearing on the case known as “Koumanova”. As AGK learns, colleague Uka has been publicly accredited to convey this court hearing and that his arrest took place outside the court's premises.
The AGK calls on Macedonian authorities to release colleague Blerim Uka immediately, thus showing they are not preventing journalists' work and violators of media freedom.
The AGK is constantly trying to contact the Kosovo Embassy in Macedonia, as well as Macedonian authorities. Similarly, the AGK has sought assistance from the Association of Journalists of Macedonia.
Hoping to clarify this situation as soon as possible, the AGK believes in the immediate release of the colleague in question.
