According to Kosovo Police statistics, since 2012, the total number of Kosovars who have travelled to Syria and Iraq is about 316, with between them 44 women and 29 children, 38 citizens who have dual citizenship, reportedly in a police response given to Indexline.
It is estimated that the current number of citizens from Kosovo to conflict zones is around 140. Including 75 people allegedly active in various forms in terrorist organisations conveyed by their family.
According to the same data given in Syria, and Iraq are 38 women and 27 children, while 58 Kosovo citizens are reportedly killed, most of them are believed to have been killed by terrorists themselves following attempts to flee the conflict zones, writes Indexline.
It is estimated that Kosovars who have travelled to conflict areas are mostly young people aged 18-27, mostly with serious economic conditions and social problems, mostly have a low education or have not had access to education, as well as a part of it with a criminal record.
