Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, confirmed that US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Yee has asked the dawn of the Bytyqi brothers' murder case.
Yll, Agron and Mehmet Bytyqi were found killed in 2001 in a mass grave in Petrovo Selo in eastern Belgrade.
They had US citizenship and were arrested in 1999 at the Kosovo-Serbia border crossing, arguing they had no permission to cross Serbia's border.
Nearly 17 years later, no person is still suspected or arrested for the case.
The dawn of killing the Bytyqi brothers has asked Hoyt Yee President of Serbia during a recent meeting, the news broadcasts.
It has been made known by the Serbian president himself, who has stressed that in addition, Yee has insisted on making the case of burning the American Embassy in Serbia in 2008 after Kosovo's independence was declared.
The senior American official has also expressed his concern over Russia's influence in Western Balkan countries.
Yee had declared that “Serbia cannot sit in two seats”, alluding to Russia and the European Union.
During a conference with Republika Srpska President in Bosnia Milorad Dodik, Serbia's president stressed that he has informed Yees that they too must protect Serbia's integrity.
We respect the interests of America, Europe, Russia. But even they should respect Serbia's interests”, Vuciq added.
“You're a serious politician, texting me to the difficult ones. Tony was higher than last time, but I defended Serbia's interests”, the president of Serbia said.
Other concrete details from the meeting with Hoyt Yee, the Serbian president promised to be unveiled during an interview that will be published tomorrow.
