The study has analyzed blood samples taken from children every three to six months, for over four years, broadcast British media.
The results found that the lack of vitamin D in children increases the risk of diabetes, while exposure to the sun is one of the best ways to increase vitamin D in your body, KosovoPress broadcasts.
According to the study, children with higher levels of vitamin D and spending more time abroad are less at risk of developing diabetes.
The study was conducted by Anschutz University in Colorado.
