Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has received telegrams of congratulations for taking on new responsibilities from US Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson.

Tillerson stresses that the prime minister's leadership is crucial to building a better future for Kosovo.

He has also encouraged Haradinaj to launch urgent reforms, ordering him to eradicate crime and corruption, Periscope reports.

Full wish:

His Majesty Ramush Haradinaj,

Kosovo Republic Prime Minister

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

Accept my congratulations on you and the people of Kosovo for elections held and forming the government. This year's June elections were a clear sign that your country has reached democratic maturity.

Your leadership is crucial to building a better future for Kosovo and close co-operation with neighbours, with the United States of America, and with other international partners.
I strongly encourage you to lead with increased and inclusive intensity in implementing necessary and urgent reforms.

Such reforms include empowering good governance and rule of law, rooting out corruption, and promoting sustainable economic development. Normalising relations with Serbia and resolving the Kosovo border issue with Montenegro are essential for Kosovo's progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

We will work closely with your government, in our common goal for multiethnic and democratic Kosovo, as part of Balkan stability and prosperity.
