Tahiri has said the fight against human trafficking is vital for human rights protection and promotion.
Furthermore, he has stressed that the <x0-identification of trafficking victims with people on the part of police, criminal, judicial and social authorities, which may be in contact with potential victims themselves, would significantly help these mechanisms in performing their jobs and in meeting the legal framework yet missing”, Tahiri has written on APUFacebook.
Tahiri's full post:
Fighting human trafficking is vital to protecting and promoting human rights and constitutes one of my top priorities as minister of justice.
In the course of my commitment to preventing and combating human trafficking, today, at the next meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I proposed the approval of Administrative Guide for the Index List for the Identification of Victims of Human Trafficking.
After researching important and necessary issues for preventing and combating this phenomenon, this guide will be the right response to contributing to facilitating the identification of trafficked victims and building the rule of law.
Identification of trafficking victims with people on the part of police, criminal, judicial and social authorities, which may be in contact with potential victims themselves, will significantly help these mechanisms in performing their jobs and in meeting the legal framework so far missing.
Therefore, I am determined to realise the objectives of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, even in terms of creating better legal conditions for preventing and combating the phenomenon of human trafficking.
