Facebook estimates that 10 million people have seen advertising involving Russia, social networking platforms, before and after US presidential elections in 2016.
The largest social network, it said, submitted on October 2nd 3,000 Russian influential ads to the Congress Investigation Committee, the Senate House, and the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Elliot Scharge, said in a blog post that the “majority of advertising focus on divisive and political messages in the ideological spectrum, affecting LGBT themes, immigration issues and gun permissions for”.
Facebook has announced it will employ 1,000 people who will help prevent advertising that may interfere with the upcoming elections.
