There are no salaries for veterans before the elections. Were they deceived again?

The chairman of the Association of War Veterans for the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hysni Gucati, has indicated they have promises that their salaries will come out Friday, while in terms of statements being circulated in the media that they have conditioned the Government that if they don't get their salaries they won't vote, Gucati has said they are only speculation.

We don't prefer it as a means to solve the road problem, but we're putting constant pressure on budget review for 2017, so that veterans are paid for pensions. We have promises that this will become possible on Friday”, Gucati said of the Word Gazette.

Gucati has told Gazeta Word that he has been three months since veterans have not received salaries, while the last salary for them has been 52 euros in August.

For veterans to have their salaries in their pockets, the budget revision is expected.

The Ministry of Finance blamed for delaying veterans' salaries on the Parliament, since they have, according to them, provided the tools and competencies they have had as minister are now past the Assembly.

Lulzim Rafuna, adviser to Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, has told Gazeta Word that the budget review is expected to take place before Friday, and shortly after that the money will be on veterans' count.

We've had a lot of difficulties with providing tools, but we've succeeded in the first moment they've been asked. We have even secured them for all the months we owe them, and it is now expected that they receive their salaries”, Rafuna said.

Days earlier for the media, Prime Minister Haradinaj, who had said that the Government has completed what it had to do, and now the address for veterans is Parliament.

The government has completed what it had to do, divided the required section, even rehabilitation for prosthetics that have been pending. The veterans' money is split. So we're done, now the address is in the House. In the government, there is nothing to seek for any veteran”, Haradinaj had declared.

Obadiah: veterans' lists are being expanded for election purposes

Commission for Board and Finance Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku, once deputy from LDK ranks, has said the government is adding false veterans' lists for election purposes, and the money for these veterans will be taken from health insurance funds.

The “Budget has been removed millions of euros from the money health insurance funds to cover huge veterans' lists. As long as hospitals are left without drugs, without needles and oxygen, the power mafia expands its lists for election purposes. ”

Abdixhiku further added that while veterans' certificates are issued, at this pace the state will have to pay 100m euros only for veterans.

The veterans' “Lists are swollen. They have been unjustly introduced to thousands of non-war party militants. For this action, the State Prosecutor has also launched an investigation. We pay them today, 50 grand. Today as we speak, veterans' certificates are still issued; and budget costs have reached 70m euros a year. At this rate we're going to reach 100 million. And for these lists, Abdixhiku blames the Democratic Party of Kosovo, as he says they are robbing the country on behalf of the war.

Obadiah's charges have been countered by the current minister of health from PDK ranks, Ismajli Bridge, reminding Abdixhik LDK it has headed the Ministry of Health and Finance.

The LDK has voted today against revising Kosovo's budget, citing as one of the reasons the removal of health insurance funds. Otherwise last week dozens of veterans have protested before the Kosovo government on demand that the budget be approved for the veterans' payment, as they have not received pensions from the state in three months.

The veterans have accused representatives of war-free associations, as well as representatives of the state, of allowing for increased veterans with persons who have never been involved in the latest war as members of this army.

Historians' Association Chairman Hysni Gucatin has even accused him of putting people on the veterans' list for 3 thousand euros.

The veterans' protest had ended after protest veterans were invited to a meeting with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, as well as representatives of the Kosovo Assembly.

IMF Alarmed on Number of veterans
