Russia has reopened the sea route with isolated North Korea after two months of impasse, reports the Russian news agency RIA.
The ship “Mangyonbong” left yesterday from Russia's port in Vladivostok to North Korea, RIA has quoted the company's general director, who leads this Russian road, Vladimir Baranov.
The sea route, the only one between the two countries, opened in May for carrying travelers, mainly Chinese tourists and goods.
But it was closed in August because the port in Vladivostok refused to offer service to this company, which had failed to make payments, RIA reports.
Baranov has said that the ship currently carries only goods and no travellers, even though the company is in talks with the port to even launch traffic for travellers.
Peniani's nuclear trials and missile fires have caused global tensions and sparked various international sanctions at the UN Security Council.
Russia condemns missile tests from North Korea but opposes US efforts to economically isolate the North.
