A year ago, President Thaci warned construction of stadium in Pristina

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci had presented the idea of building a new stadium for the National of Kosovo. In May 2016, the former head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo had mentioned building the stadium in Pristina. At the time, he promised that the sports field would have a capacity of 30,000 seats. Hashim Thaci, in May 2016, knew where the National Stadium should be built. He had said such an object should be built in Pristina.
Now, PDK officials have warned that the same Stadium will be built in Drenas.
Kadri Wessel has said that construction of this stadium will take place with the help of Hungary.
Sports Minister, Cameron Gashi, as well as member of The PDK has said the decision on where the most important sports field will be built will be taken within a week. He said Drenas remains the best option.
However, Thaci, as president, had said that with the construction of the stadium in Pristina, Kosovo football membership in the two most important international mechanisms makes sense.
After UEFA and FIFA membership, Kosovo's national needs a dignified country for the development of international competitions. We will do our best to get the new stadium started in the capital, with capacity of 30,000 seats presented long ago. Only thus, UEFA membership and FIFA makes sense”, the president had written in 2016.
Meanwhile, other state officials and former party officials have been involved in the debate.
Avni Arifi, the prime minister's adviser, has named it the pure <x0ran” construction of the Stadium in Drenas. He said the same would be built in Pristina.
Meanwhile, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo deputy leader Anton Berisha, who also holds the position of deputy foreign minister, has said Drenas is the best place to build the Olympic Stadium.
And publicist Veton Surroi has irony with the idea of building such an object in Drenica. He said that “Opera and theatre will go to Skenderaj”.
The past government has never made a decision about where the National Stadium will be built.
Isa Mustafa, the country's former prime minister, had only authorised the Sport Ministry to appoint Brnica as the possible location for building the sports field.
But he had never sent such a decision for approval to Government.
