Berisha, co-ordinator at the Centre “Artpolis”, said that through this artistic exercise they have tried to deliver messages against sexual harassment in various areas.
She said that through the art and body movements of actresses, she has tried to transmit messages to Kosovo society for street harassment.
This time we've been trying to convey a message to our society about sexual harassment. We all know that there is a phenomenon that prevails on every street, not only on the streets in public environments, as well as in private environments, institutions, and in every country wants to say no matter where”, Berisha said.
Berisha said that in Kosovo they still do not know what the word sexual harassment means and do not know how to distinguish between sexual harassment and ʹflirt].
Meanwhile, Lena Clayton from Kvinna Till Kvinna, an activist from Sweden, said today's performance was beautiful and the message against sexual violence was very clear.
She also said that in Sweden she fights for the same cause through social networks.
“It was a powerful and beautiful performance, I think it was perfect. And I feel that the message about how you feel about sexual harassment and sexual violence was very clear. Inequality in the world must change. Like these women, I fight for the same causes in Sweden. I fight hard for them on social networks. I have an Instagram account called "Assoles Online," where I write about sexual harassment which I personally experience online, on the street and in my daily life”, she said.
She said that it is very important that there are many people struggling over these causes to be free and invite all men to join in.
Performance actress “Don't be silent”, Danielle Markaj said that through this artistic display, you've tried to exhibit sexual harassment on the street, harassment that women don't feel comfortable.
According to her, it has been intended to inform women that they can report and react against such harassment.
We've been trying to present sexual harassment that occurs along the way, regardless of gender, but we're defining it with women who happen, and they've made it uncomfortable, and that when they become our peers, women in general realize they're right to announce the case and respond to harassment”, Markaj said.
According to her, preparations for this artistic performance have lasted a week in which two actresses and several activists from the Center for Art and Communitys -- Artpolis.
By contrast, the Center for Arts and Communitys Artpolis deals with the report of sexual harassment and fights it through theatre, artistic and various instigations.
