In Berlin the wind had a very high speed, causing two flights to be canceled temporarily as much of the public transportation was closed.
One of the victims is a woman who died after a tree fell on her car. Four other people were killed in the Brandenburg region.
About 400 passengers on a speeding train from Amsterdam to Berlin were evacuated. Even at the port of Wilhelmshaven, a crane weighing about 1.1 tons was brought down by the four winds.
Authorities said the storm, called Xavier, would head toward Poland.
