This is Pacolli's first request as foreign minister for Haradinaj

Following Pristina's announced Public Act by the Constitutional Court on October 18th, 2017 against the former Pristina University Rector, former head of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hasani, who was sentenced to a year in prison on bail for incumbent criminal acts of fraud, the deputy prime minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs [...]
After consulting even with a group of local and international law professors, Minister Pacolli considers that remaining in this role a high profile representative of an individual with this record staining of punishment seriously affects Kosovo's image, as it supposedly the prestigious international institution, where it represents us, has been informed of the condemnation of, Enver Hasani, by local justice. Under these conditions, he himself will have to resign”, said in the statement.
In terms of this issue, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pacolli wants to announce the broad public opinion that he will exercise all his legal obligations and responsibilities, in close consultation with Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and in full support of the Venice Commission's respective procedures.
In a situation like this, Pacolli thinks better repair for Kosovo's image would be Hasan's replacement with an academic personality of the highest possible profile, in consultation with university and professional rule of law
