Over the past three years, on behalf of the excise in tobacco, the state has been running over 300m euros, while the value of tobacco imported over the past three years has been around 150m euros.
During the first 10 months of this Kosovo budget on behalf of the excise in cigarettes alone, it has managed to register nothing short of 98m euros.
Based on official Kosovo Customs data, it is seen that during 2016, between excises in state cigarettes have created inflows of 124m euros, until in 2015 on behalf of the excise in cigarettes, there have been no less than 102m euros.
Customs spokesman Adriatic Stavileci tells the newspaper “Voice” that from the beginning of this year until now in Kosovo over 22,000 tonnes of tobacco have entered.
It reveals that more than 3,000 tons of tobacco entered Kosovo in 2016, until more than 28,000 tons of tobacco were introduced in 2015.
According to him, in 2015 the value of imported tobacco has reached 54m euros, the value of imported tobacco has been 58m euros, until this year the value of imported tobacco has reached 49m euros.
