About 2.9 billion euros has reached the amount of resources Kosovo citizens have stored in commercial banks in the country. And the amount of loans citizens and businesses owe banks is 2.4 billion euros.
Based on official data from the Central Bank of Kosovo (BQK), deposits in our country have seen an annual increase of 7.2 percent, accelerated pace compared to the preliminary period, which was 4.6 percent.
“Nivel of deposits in the banking sector reflects the performance of household resource deposits, which dominate the total storage structure and in the reporting period marked annual growth of 5.4 per cent”, the report says. Furthermore, company deposits reportedly marked accelerated annual growth of 14.1 percent in the first half of the year, which may have been influenced by an increase in the average interest rate in deposits for companies.
