Former Foreign Minister of Serbia, now chairman of the Centre for International Co-operation and Sustainable Development in Serbia, Vuk Jeremic, has declared Serbia in 2018 to be in a difficult situation.
He has declared that Serbia will have to choose to accept Kosovo into the United Nations Organisation, or to exacerbate reports with key international factors.
Speaking to Vojvodina Radio Television, Jeremic said the situation behind the referendum on the independence of Catalonia could affect reports between Belgrade and Pristina, broadcasts news.net.
After emergency consultations with Serbia's president and Prime Minister Brnabyq were decided to send a letter to Brussels, but I think it will bring no benefits, and no state will withdraw recognition for Kosovo”, Jeremic said.
He has also said that his party's position is to continue dialogue with Serbia.
The popular party's “position is that through dialogue with Kosovo Albanians a sustainable solution be reached, but for us it is not acceptable to recognise Kosovo's independence”, Jeremic said.
The issue of Kosovo's membership at the UN was particularly tied up after the UN General Assembly meeting was held.
Kosovo officials have repeatedly declared that in the near future Kosovo will become part of the United Nations Organisation.
