A court in Germany has sentenced an 88-year-old woman to six months in prison for denying the Holocaust and inciting hatred.
Ursula Haverbeck, who describes himself as a historian revisionist, had said during a public event in January 2016 that gas chambers in the Auschwitz concentration camps were not true.
Today, however, the Berlin Court found Haverbeck guilty of denial of the Holocaust and inciting hatred after examining a video of her talk, which she said was quoting a book and not expressing her personal thoughts. However, the court discovered that the talk was hers and thus sentenced her to six months ' imprisonment.
Condemning the Holocaust, in which six million Jews were killed, is a crime in Germany, punishable by up to five years in prison.
