US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee has commented on recent statements that America should become part of the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
At Serbia's 17th Economic Summit, he has said the United States of America has been involved in dialogue since the beginning.
“America has been involved since the beginning of the dialogue and this is no secret that we have participated in this process led by Brussels”, Yee said, broadcast news.net
The senior American official has said his state wants Balkan countries to be stable and not to have conflicts.
The risk of conflict exists as long as there are conflicts and unresolved problems. But the trend of peace and stability is positive”, the American official added.
According to him, countries that want EU membership must be determined that way.
The “countries that want to join the EU must have that decision clear. You can't sit on two chairs”, said Hoyt Briyan Yee.
In the end, he stressed America's commitment to the Euro-Atlantic path of Western Balkan countries.
