A court in Thessaloniki has ordered extradition to the United States of a Russian national accused of delivering money.
38-year-old Alexander Winnick is accused by US authorities of delivering $4 billion through Bitcoin electronic platform. According to the indictment, through this rig it legalised the illegal profits of various criminal groups.
The process in Thessaloniki, which had begun last week, ended Wednesday, with the verdict proclaimed.
The court has decided to hand over the American authorities even the computers, tablets and mobile phones that were found to Winnik at the moment of his arrest.
Alexander Winnik was arrested under an international warrant. He was given handcuffs in July at a Halkidiki tourist hotel.
Before the Vinik court, he denied the charges and demanded that he not be extradited.
He will now file an appeal and remains with the Supreme Court to decide whether the 38-year-old Russian will be extradited.
