Government has not yet decided whether to apply for membership in U NESTO

The Kosovo government has not yet made a decision whether to apply for membership this year in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

In Government, they say they are consulting with relevant international mechanisms and allies, then I will decide whether to submit the application.

Although Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli had stated weeks ago that Kosovo has votes for membership is another obstacle that is making application difficult for membership in this organisation.

Kosovo Government Communications Office Director Halil Matoshi has told the news.net that there are two important evils to be committed, which, according to him, has had to be carried out in 2015.

The government is in consultation with all relevant international mechanisms, as well as with the strategic allies of the Republic of Kosovo and in full co-ordination with them, will decide whether to apply to UNESCO”,

“The Haradinaj government is three weeks in office, so it has not managed to complete two cruise laws for U n NESCO, the one for religious freedoms and cultural heritage, even though Kosovo has had to close them since 2015”, Matosi has indicated.

Former Deputy Foreign Minister Valon Murtezaj had said days earlier that the current government must submit the application, but that according to him not too long.

Although Kosovo government still no decision whether to apply for membership in U NESTO, Serbian state officials say Kosovo has already lost the deadline for application.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic today ironically has called on Kosovo institutions to apply.
