German newspaper “Die Welt” pays attention to the debate that sparked in Belgrade the words of Nobelist writer Herta Müller on the Serbian mentality towards history.

Herta Müller, German Nobelist writer originally from Romania's German minority, was an honorary guest at the Belgrade Book Fair. It has sparked a debate with its assessment of the Serbian mentality towards history. “Day Welt” writes that Herta Müller called the NATO bombing as a logical consequence of Milosevic's numerous wars. Herta Müller even recommends that Serbian society face guilt.

Many spectators reacted indignantly, the press close to the government foamed, a boulevardeske newspaper even disfigured Müller's name in Müll- (German means trash. Mark red.) How does this fit to fit Serbia's “proeuroropian”?”

German newspaper “Die Welt” pays attention to the problems of Serbian society today, where life “party” and pompous maskilism cannot hide deep corruption within it. In the article “Belgrade boils” notes that the “rony of history is that right in Belgrade, where Milosevic's propagandists -- (including the former information minister, present-day President Vuciq) claim the Christian West is protected from here, right here in this very Belgrade, with the help of state funds being established a huge project financed by Abuhaba Dhabi”.
