MPs can count on paying for any commitment, whether through participation in plenary sessions, at committee meetings and compensation for trips abroad or within the country.
The 120 deputies of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly, in addition to the monthly salary of about 1500 euros a month, also enjoy additional material rights for any of their activities. For two sessions during the month, they receive 240 euros. For participation in parliamentary commission meetings, however, they earn an additional 160 euros.
Meanwhile, in only two sessions held yesterday and today, each Kosovo Assembly MP has won 480 euros. Which, of course, 120 deputies, have cost the state budget 57 000 and 600 euros.
Thus, as a whole, the MP's monthly income, including the wages, amounts to or even exceeds the amount of 2,000 euros.
Albert Krasniqi from the Kosovo Democratic Institute, which conducts regular monitoring of the legislature's work, has explained the salaries and wages the assembly MPs receive.
He said that for each session MPs are compensated for around 240 euros, meanwhile if it is the continuation of the preliminary session these conditions are only worth one session.
Also, if more than two sessions are held during the month, they are not paid for the third or more session. So they can't take more than two sessions. The average annual salary of MPs is about 23 thousand euros, which is a markedly higher salary than the average salary in Kosovo, which is 360 euros, while for MPs it is 2000 euros”, Krasniqi has said.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Parliament Secretary Ismet Krasniqi has preferred not to speak at all, saying he is busy.
In the rule of the Republic of Kosovo, it is said that in addition to the right of material compensation in monthly revenues, MPs have the right to cover their stay spending and travel in and out of the country on official duty, then additional incomes for participation in the Assembly sessions and commissions, covering phone and oil duties, and working on other troops outside regular activity.
