The Ministry of Justice, through this communique, informs citizens that, based on its legal mandate, it has taken necessary measures to enable independent and undirected investigation into the latest case of KKUK escape -- of a person suffering punishment at the Dubrava Correcting Centre.
Using the legal mandate, measures have been taken to begin the general investigation, both by police, justice ministry inspectors and the investigative commission at the ministry level.
In parallel with that, two officers in charge of the case have been suspended from work until the investigation was completed.
The justice ministry is determined that any irregularities in the field of justice and its mechanisms will be addressed to official and legal responsibilities in order to increase the dedication and efficiency of law enforcement and prevent any possible misuse during the exercise of office, regardless of circumstances and reasons.
