Lack of documents at various institutions related to demarcation of the border with Montenegro amid the first decisions made by the country's prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, in assuming the position was the dismissal of the border demarcation Commission with Montenegro.
Meanwhile Haradinaj completed the formation of the new Commission, with almost entirely new names. But it has been a month since this commission has been formed and no publication of the findings has yet been made.
Contacted by Indexline, the member of this commission, Florim Isufi, has recursed as many times before that the work of this commission is continuing, but, according to him, for the reasons of the work in question there is a lot of difficulty.
The “Commission for marks and maintenance of the border line has started working immediately after the decision was made by the Government of Kosovo. The work is continuing with high intensity by consulting large numbers of documents. It is normal in such a job that some of the documents can be found with great difficulty, while some documents with or without consciousness or carelessness are missing in institutions specialising in their preservation”, Isufi said.
Also, Isufi has announced that the commission is exploiting all options among them and obtaining documents from other countries.
The Commission is multidisciplinary and is exploiting all possibilities to secure the necessary documents, even from other countries. Time is still needed to draw a precise and unappreciated sequential conclusion”, Isufi added. According to Isufi, at the moment of reaching all sources and information will be released with a final report.
In the meantime, Isufi has also been asked if the commission has begun to go to the field where, among other things, it has stressed that they are full-time active and point to it as a field exit, the one at various institutions. We are active five days a week full-time. Twice a week we have commission meetings, and three times a week we are on the ground in various institutions. Based on this intensity of work so far we've managed to secure some innovations in the demarcation problem, but our goal is to ensure as much as possible so that once and for all we can close this chapter which has come in with many contradictions and shortcomings in various political and professional reports”, is complete.
It should be commemorated that demarcation with Montenegro is one of the demands of foreign representatives that Kosovo citizens allow visa-free travel.
