America part of Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, Serbia agrees

President Hashim Thaci had said that in the new process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, the US must also be included directly. Thaci had requested this, criticising the EU for a kind of '%anemie to push away the dialogue process, which in the next year is expected to end with finding [...]
With America's involvement in this dialogue seems to have been hired by official Belgrade, as they have begun publicly declaring themselves in favor of this idea, even saying that this is in Serbia's best interests, the newspaper reportornet writes.
They support this by saying that American participation in the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade will not be bad for Serbia, because the US can pressure all obligations from the Brussels Agreement to be fulfilled, especially what it has to do with establishing the Serb Community of Communities.
Serbiangraphy writes that the Kosovo side is insisting it will not start with the new process of dialogue without being present at the table even America.
While Prime Minister Haradinaj has warned that he is working on a new negotiating platform, which is forming with the aid of America.
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic has said that for any changes in the dialogue format, they should also seek Serbia's response and consent, while for this Serb side currently sees nothing negative.
Centre for Regionalisation Director Aleksandar Popov has said that exactly America has been the one who has managed to stop the formation of armed forces in Kosovo, so, according to him, American participation in this dialogue does not pose any major problem.
“We are entering the end of dialogue and certainly that representatives of Pristina and Belgrade will be given deadlines in which this process should be completed. However, it is clear that this is also important with implementation of the Brussels agreement. Especially in the part dealing with the establishment of the Serbian Communists Association”, Popov said, and noted that the intention to sign the document by the end of next year was to put pressure on everything that was signed by the Brussels Agreement to be realised in the short and fulfilled term.
He said Brussels is not as effective in pressure on Pristina to implement everything that has been adopted so far by the Brussels Agreement and has shown that “America has a lot of influence on Kosovo”.
Kosovo views America as a protector... America also knows how to return to the other side and will not expect so long to fail to realise what they have agreed on in Brussels. The role of America can be seen in the positive context, because it can exert pressure on Pristina to accept all commands”, Popov has said.
Another political analyst has spoken about American participation in dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, and whether he thinks dialogue will be delayed until next autumn.
The direct participation of America in dialogue does not pose any danger to it. The most dangerous part is whether the parties are ready or not. I personally don't believe in the team where Marco Duric is and others like him, because their current outcome is clear. Since 2015, Vucici and Dacic have led only one type of policy that has somehow blocked the agreement, which is formally responsible for and behind which the government holds up Pristina, but it is managing to carve something, while Belgrade is not”, has stressed Dusan Janjic.
He thinks it's not good Belgrade when “only talks to the Serbian List”.
It is clear that Belgrade has tolerated the scope of co-operation with Serbs and that everything has been brought to the Serbian list. So it includes most of Serbia's <x1 political contractors” and this is a major risk”, Janic warns.
While in Belgrade there is no consensus on internal dialogue in Serbia, Janjic says Vucic will need help on Pristina's part, adding that it has a clear and common goal to achieve Kosovo's full independence.
This is serious for Belgrade because it cannot have an exact motive as Kosovo does. Belgrade must define a strategy for lowering spending and not recognising independence, which itself is a very complicated issue, especially when there is no media and consensus in parliament. I'm afraid there's no consensus either in the government, but wait and see. It's heavy for the government's Vucicin without active support, even for the internal plan”.
Haradinaj also has said Pristina will not continue dialogue in the event America is not part of that table.
President Thaci, who has said that by Vice President Mike Pence, has made a statement that this will actually happen.
